Just days before the Grammy Awards are handed out here in the States, the nominees for the Canadian version of the music awards show, the Juno Awards, were announced on Tuesday (February 7) with Drake, Justin Bieber and Michael Bublé all landing nods. Some of Canada's biggest acts will face off in the Album of The Year category: Avril Lavigne for Goodbye Lullabye, Drake for Take Care, Justin Bieber for his Christmas-themed Under the Mistletoe, Michael Bublé for his holiday album Christmas and rockers Nickelback for Here and Now.

Bieber scored his second nomination in the Fan Choice Award category along with Arcade Fire, Lavigne, City and Colour, deadmau5, Drake, Ginette Reno, Hedley, Bublé and Nickelback. He, however, didn't manage to land any nods in other major categories like Artist of the Year. His pal Drake did nab a nom in the Artist of the Year category, along with Feist, Bublé, City and Colour and Deadmau5. While the roster of nominees for the show is uniquely Canadian, Drake's Stateside crossover makes him the most high-profile nom in the Rap Recording of the Year category. His Take Care will face off against Classified's Handshakes and Middle Fingers, D-Sisive's Jonestown 2: Jimmy Go Bye Bye, Kardinal Offishall's Anywhere (Ol Time Killin Part II) and Swollen Members' Dagger Mouth. Nickelback, Feist and Deadmau5 are among the artists set to perform at the show, which takes place on April 1.

A number of Juno nominees are also Grammy-nominated. Deadmau5, for instance, won't have to wait until April to find out if his hard work has paid off. He is also up for several Grammy Awards including Best Dance/Electronica Album for 4×4=12. Drake's work on tracks with Rihanna and DJ Khaled and Nicki Minaj has shined some Grammy light on him this year as well. And, Bieber's "Born to Be Somebody" from his movie "Never Say Never," is up for Best Song Written for Visual Media. Who should take home prizes at the Juno awards? Leave your picks in the comments section below! Chaos! Profanity! Wardrobe malfunctions! Barack Obama ?Doesn?t Like? His Daughters Watching the Kardashians on TV

Feb 23 2012 Published by under Uncategorized

There seems to be a divide between the White House and America’s royal reality TV family. First Lady Michelle Obama said in a recent interview that her hubby, President Barack Obama, monitors what his daughters Sasha, 10, and Malia, 13, watch on TV. And the Kardashians are not on the Tivo! Michelle, 47, told iVillage [...]

Justin Bieber might be singing hooks like a G6 in the very near future. Super-producer RedOne told MTV News that he recently hit the studio with the teen star, and it involved dance-floor phenoms Far East Movement.

"The Bieber thing, I don't know if I'm allowed to mention it right now, but … I did a few songs with Far East Movement, and one of the songs … to me, it's a smash," he told us in his Los Angeles-area recording studio. "And Justin sang the chorus. It's a really good song, and I think people are gonna dance like crazy to it." While any other details about the project are top-secret, Red did praise the 17-year-old's work ethic, maturity and musicality. "He's very positive and he's an amazing singer," he said. "Amazing everything! He's Justin Bieber. He's a sensation. I think he's becoming a man with his voice. He's an incredible singer. So it's not just the dance or the looks or the 'Justin' factor. He's a real singer musician … He's a real artist." Currently, Bieber is busy recording his 2012 release, Believe, and there's a chance RedOne could be involved in the album. But it will only happen if the twosome can cook up a choice track. "We're trying to figure out some smashes together for his album," he said. With RedOne's part on the album still up in the air, there are plenty of other folks onboard with Bieber for the release, including producers Pharrell, Timbaland and will.i.am and rappers Drake and Lil Wayne. Believe will be released later this year. What are you hoping to hear from Justin's new music? Let us know in the comments!

Grammys 2012 Odds Give Adele, Nicki Minaj An Edge

MTV News sought out experts (and the slightly uninformed) to get predictions for Sunday’s Grammy Awards.

Ever since the nominees for the 54th Grammy Awards were announced late last year, we've asked everyone from Vegas-tested professionals to cubicle-dwelling amateurs to predict just who will take home the golden gramophones during Sunday's big show. And basically, they keep telling us the same thing: Adele is just going to win everything.

And they're probably right. After all, her 21 album is an unstoppable juggernaut, selling more than 6 million copies in less than a year, spawning two massive singles and almost singlehandedly keeping the industry afloat during dour times. So, yeah, we feel pretty comfortable referring to her as "the favorite." Still, it's not as if Adele's Grammy-night triumph is a sure thing (not entirely anyway): In three of the so-called "Big Four" categories — Album, Record and Song of the Year — she'll face stiff challenges from the likes of Mumford & Sons, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Kanye West, to name just a few. In the other "Big Four" category (Best New Artist), she's not nominated — mostly because she won it in 2009. So with music's biggest night just around the corner, here's a refresher on just who our expert oddsmakers — and resident awards-show expert (uh, me) picked to win at the 54th Grammys: Record of the Year
Not surprisingly, the U.K.-based oddsmakers at Ladbrokes like Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" here, installing it as the favorite at 2/1 odds. Mumford & Sons' "The Cave" was next, at 9/4 odds, followed by Bruno Mars' "Grenade" at 4/1. I decided to go out on a limb and predict Bon Iver's "Holocene" would build on Arcade Fire's unlikely Album of the Year win at last year's Grammys and shock everyone by winning ROTY. Who's right? Well, probably the pros, but we'll just have to wait until Sunday to know for sure. Song of the Year
Ladbrokes once again goes for Adele, giving "Rolling in the Deep" 1/1 odds to win. Kanye West's "All of the Lights" is next at 2/1, followed by Mumford & Sons' "The Cave" at 5/1. Me? I'm taking "Deep" too — mostly because it was the year's biggest track, and one look back at previous SOTY winners ("Rehab," "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," etc.) shows you which way this category tends to go. Album of the Year
Ladbrokes has Adele's 21 as the slight favorite here, giving the disc 11/8 odds. Close behind are Bruno Mars' Doo Wops & Hooligans and the Foo Fighters' Wasting Light, each of whom got 3/1 odds. I also picked 21 to win, but unlike the betting Brits, I didn't think this one would even be close. Best New Artist
Absent of Adele, BNA may very well be the night's most-competitive category. Ladbrokes certainly seems to agree with that sentiment, as they've installed Nicki Minaj as the slight favorite (6/4 odds), but also kept the Band Perry (9/4), Bon Iver (4/1) and J. Cole (5/1) within striking distance. As for me, I took Minaj too, though I'm not sure how confident I feel about it now. I could certainly see the Band Perry winning instead, though my gut tells me that perhaps it'll be Bon Iver who takes this one home — we'll just have to wait until Sunday to see. Chaos! Profanity! Wardrobe malfunctions! The Kardashians are getting ready to add another girl to the clan! On Wednesday (February 22), Kourtney Kardashian revealed to OK! magazine that she and longtime partner Scott Disick — who have a son together — are expecting a baby girl in late spring.

“We feel so blessed to be having a little girl and to be able to share this new experience with Mason,” Kourtney told E! News.

The couple’s first child, Mason, celebrated his second birthday in December. And back in November, the reality TV couple announced the happy news, saying that although it was unexpected, they were more prepared this time around.

“It wasn’t like we weren’t trying,” Disick told US Weekly at the time. “We kind of just said, ‘If it’s meant to be, it’ll be.’ ”

MTV News caught up with Kourtney’s sister Khloé in December, and she told us that her big sister had been feeling some of the symptoms typical of early pregnancy.

“She’s good. She’s a little more nauseous this time around, which I feel bad about, but she’s great and it’s so exciting,” Khloé said.

When Kourt’s pregnancy was first announced, proud sis Khloé took to her blog to express her excitement over the new addition to the Kardashian family. “I am BEYOND thrilled to fiiiiinally be able to share with all of you the fabulous news that my beautiful big sister Kourtney is expecting yet again!” she wrote. “Can you believe it?! Masey is going to be a big brother! We are all so overjoyed by this wonderful news and are counting down the minutes until we get to meet the newest member of our family.”

Of course, sister Kim also shared her glee, writing on her blog that she couldn’t wait to become an aunt again: “This is such a blessing and the whole family is beyond thrilled! I just know Mason will make the best big brother and I can’t wait to meet my new little niece or nephew! Congratulations Kourtney and Scott.”

Kourtney and Scott recently wrapped up the second season of “Kourtney & Kim Take New York,” along with Kim and her soon-to-be ex-husband, Kris Humphries.

Share your well-wishes for Kourtney and Scott in the comments below!
